One of the lucky few who knew what he wanted to do early in life, Myles Worrell first had the desire to step behind a bar at the age of 10. Clearly, it wasn’t until later in life that he began cultivating his passion and eventually turning it into a career. “Houston Eaves (his mentor, and Beverage Director for The Esquire Tavern and its concurrent projects) was the first person to teach me that bartending could be a career, and that changed everything for me,” says Myles, who is known for being soft-spoken and a man of few words behind the bar.
Myles delivers immaculately crafted drinks and he expects the same from his team. In fact, his diligence, attention to detail, and dedication to quality ingredients afford him invitations to participate in some of the most prestigious competitions in the United States, including the 2015 86 Co. Secret Mix Off and the 2016 Monkey Shoulder Ultimate Bartender Competition. In both of these, he competed fiercely… and won.
His vision for the bar program at The Esquire Tavern matches that of Houston Eaves, and these two work tirelessly to preserve The Esquire’s status as the best bar in San Antonio.
