On Dec. 5, 1933, prohibition officially ended in the United States—marking the day thirsty people everywhere were able to drink alcohol, in moderation or in excess, legally. Nearly a hundred years later, San Antonians commemorated the day with a glitzy cocktail party, burlesque dancers, an ice sculpture of a San Antonio Light headline immortalizing the day and lots of libations during a Repeal Party at the Esquire Tavern.
